As teams across the country adjust to working remotely in light of COVID-19, feeling a sense of connection is more important than ever. Shelter-in-place and social distancing mandates have upended many Americans’ routines and virtual team activities can help employees maintain a sense of normalcy and camaraderie. 

To stay connected as a team at Unusual, we’ve created a Thursday evening happy hour (non-alcoholic drinks invited!) with a new theme or game every week. Team favorites have included poker night, trivia night, and most recently, quarantine recipes. (As an added bonus, the proceeds from these virtual team events have gone to supporting charities providing essential services to healthcare workers and the elderly.) Like many Americans, the Unusual Team has been busy in the kitchen and we asked everyone to share their favorite recipe while sheltering-in-place. We shared a few laughs learning who had more surprising culinary tastes. 

While Top Chef may not be in any of our futures, the recipes provided lighter entertainment amongst the team. We decided to have a little fun with our new branding and compiled the recipes into the Unusual Quarantine Cookbook to share with you all, so you can be the judge of who the Unusual top chefs are and who should be chopped.
